I am not sure the word I want to use is "unrealistic" or not but I LOVE LOVE LOVE playing with photoshop and making my pics not look like they did when they were taken.. I love poping colors like crazy.. Some photographers say that it's too much but when people see my work that is the one thing I hear most is how they love all my saturated colors.. Could it be that is just my style???
Here is an example..
My son's field trip to the pumpkin patch.. Here is the SOOC shot

Do I smell bad or something???!!??!!
I think it's really fun! I love the effect with this shot. Great capture!
A friend of mine who has been a photographer for over 30 years now, is a purist when it comes to post processing his images. As great as his shots are, they are unfortunately bland.
It is edits like yours that help define us not just as photographers, but as artists. When I see a photo, I want it to 'WOW' me...
Nice edit Kristie.

I am the same way.. It's not that I want to take away from any natural beauty I just love to enhance the crap out of it!! ROFL!!
Kristie, I've been a photographer for more than thirty years, and I shot my images so that I HAVE to PP so I'm definitely for it but I think what you do puts them into the HDR range which if that's your style then by all means go for it! I believe that we should develop a style that when someone sees our images, they'll say, " I'll bet that's Kristie's"
I love the way the colors pop out of the picture, especially the two pink coats. I think this picture is fascinating! And I think its great to have your own style. If this is your style then run with it, and what does it matter what other photographers think? After all if we all thought like Socrates and painted like Picasso the world would lack any originality.
Thank you!! I really do love adding all that extra color.. It just makes me want to look at the picture for forever!! LOL... Not all my pics are this colorful though.. I do love landscapes done like the above pic..
Your style is whatever you make it. For another example of 'hyper-reality' photos, look at the HDR photos. I just posted a set on the Before & After thread as an example :)
I saw that pic Christy.. I LOVED IT!!! Thanks for sharing!
